Roadrunners split a pair of matches
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners soccer team picked up their first victory of the season by a score of 3-1 over Missouri Valley College junior varsity in the final soccer match played at the Fred E. Davis Sports Complex, before moving to Smith-Cotton High School to make way for construction of the new outdoor sports complex at SFCC.

Missouri Valley College Junior Varsity at Sedalia
Sedalia, Mo. – The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners soccer team picked up their first victory of the season by a score of 3-1 over Missouri Valley College junior varsity in the final soccer match played at the Fred E. Davis Sports Complex, before moving to Smith-Cotton High School to make way for construction of the new outdoor sports complex at SFCC.
SFCC got on the scoreboard first with a goal from sophomore striker Nathan McCollin with about 37 minutes remaining in the opening half. The Roadrunners took that advantage into halftime.
Missouri Valley tied the game with a goal with about 37 minutes to go in the match.
SFCC scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with about 23 minutes remaining in the contest with a goal from freshman defender Ruben Garcia. The Roadrunners added one more goal from freshman midfielder Malachai Bonney to provide the winning margin with about 20 minutes to go in the game.
Sophomore goalkeeper Michele Tafani started the game in goal for SFCC.
"Hopefully, we can continue to get guys healthy," said head coach Michael Poropat. "I believe that both of our programs are going in the right direction. Hopefully, we can continue to go in the right direction."

West Burlington, Iowa – SFCC (1-6) lost a 4-0 match to Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa on Saturday, Sept.13.
Southeastern Community College scored a pair of goals in each half to provide the winning margin.
Tafani got the start in goal for SFCC.
