Roadrunners win high scoring battle at North Central
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team got back on track with an 18-14 victory at North Central Missouri College in a single nine inning game on Tuesday, April 21.
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team got back on track with an 18-14 victory at North Central Missouri College in a single nine inning game on Tuesday, April 21.
SFCC (23-27) scored eight runs in the top of the fifth inning to erase an early deficit. The Roadrunners tacked on three more runs in the sixth inning and four more in the top of the ninth to hang on for the victory.
Utility player Malachi Antle of Licking, Missouri had three hits, including a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI. Outfielder Devin Wassmann of Platte City, Mo also registered three hits, including another home run, a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Infielder Connor Rice of Sedalia, Missouri also added three hits, including an RBI and a run scored. Middle infielder Dayton Doll of Platte County, Mo. contributed a pair of hits, including a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Outfielder Collin Ross of Branson, Mo. pitched in with two hits, including a home run, two RBIs, and four runs scored. Catcher Jose Arquez of Columbia registered two hits, an RBI, and a run scored. Corner infielder Andrew Hill Columbia, Mo. pitched in with two hits, two RBIs, and two run scored. Middle infielder Ty Hall of Greene City, Mo. pitched in with a pair of hits and two runs scored. Outfielder Drake Odneal of Smithville, Mo.had a home run, drove in four runs, and scored twice.
As a team, SFCC put together 20 hits in the contest.
Pitcher Mason Morris of Unionville, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Morris pitched three innings, gave up six runs (five earned runs), on five hits, struck out three, and walked two. Morris combined with four relievers to help secure the victory for SFCC.
SFCC will return to action on Thursday, April 23 for a Region 16 doubleheader at home against Mineral Area College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
