Roadrunners snap losing streak
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team got back on track with a 20-5 victory in five innings because of the run rule over Highland Community College-Kansas on Tuesday, March 31 in Highland, Kan.
Highland, Kan,-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team got back on track with a 20-5 victory in five innings because of the run rule over Highland Community College-Kansas on Tuesday, March 31 in Highland, Kan. SFCC snapped a four-game losing streak with the victory.
SFCC (13-22) took control of the contest, scoring 10 runs in the top the first inning and never looked back. The Roadrunners put together 15 hits as a team in the contest.
Middle infielder Dayton Doll of Platte County, Mo. had an outstanding offensive game with four hits including three home runs, eight RBIs, and four runs scored. Catcher Carter Rice of Sedalia, Mo. also had four hits, including a home run, three runs scored, and three RBIs. Outfielder Collin Ross of Branson, Mo. contributed a pair of hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Outfielder Devin Wassmann of Platte City, Mo. hit a home run and drove in three runs. Infielder Connor Rice of Sedalia, Mo. scored a pair of runs. Catcher Garrison Hartsell of Pleasant Hill, Mo. also scored a pair of runs. First baseman Jake Kruse of Smithville, Mo. recorded a double and three runs scored. Outfielder Drake Odneal of Smithville, Mo. scored a pair of runs. Middle infielder Ty Hall of Greene City, Mo. hit a home run in the game.
Pitcher Mason Morris of Unionville, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Morris pitched three innings, gave up one run on two hits, struck out five, and walked two to earn the victory on the mound.
SFCC will return to action on Thursday, April 2 in a Region 16 doubleheader at Crowder College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
