Roadrunners fall at St. Louis
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team lost a pair of Region 16 games to St. Louis Community College on Sunday, March 29 in St. Louis, Mo.

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team lost a pair of Region 16 games to St. Louis Community College on Sunday, March 29 in St. Louis, Mo.
The Roadrunners fell 9-6 in the opening game after a late rally came up short. In game two, SFCC (12-22, 5-15 in Region 16) fell 6-2.
In the opening game, outfielder Devin Wassmann of Platte City, Mo., had a pair of hits including a home run to lead the SFCC offense. Wassmann also drove in a pair of runs and scored one. Freshman middle infielder Dayton Doll of Platte County, Mo., had a pair of hits including a double and an RBI. Catcher Carter Rice of Sedalia, Mo, contributed a pair of hits including a double and a run scored. Outfielder Drake Odneal of Smithville, Mo. added a double. As a team, SFCC put together nine hits in the game.
Pitcher Evan Bishop of Boonville, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Bishop pitched four innings, gave up seven runs (six earned runs) on five hits, struck out five, and walked four.
In game two, the SFCC offense was held to just four hits. Rice had a pair of hits and an RBI. Doll had a hit and scored a run. Catcher Albert Salguera of Caracas, Venezuela recorded a hit. Corner infielder Andrew Hill of Columbia, Mo. scored a run.
Pitcher Jake Riggin of Lee's Summit, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Riggin pitched 5 1/3 innings, gave up six runs (one earned run) on five hits, struck out nine, and walked one.
SFCC made four errors in the game.
The Roadrunners will return to action on Tuesday, March 31 with a single game at Highland Community College-Kansas. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
