Smith earns All-American honors
Sedalia, Mo.-State Fair Community College (SFCC) women’s soccer sophomore forward Ella Smith has been named a NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American.
Sedalia, Mo.-State Fair Community College (SFCC) women's soccer sophomore forward Ella Smith has been named a NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American. Smith is the second Lady Roadrunner in the history of the program to earn All-American honors.
Smith started and played in 15 games this season. Smith scored 24 total goals during her sophomore campaign which placed her tied for seventh in the country in goals scored. Smith finished fourth in shots with 105. She also finished 12th in the country in shots on goal with 52 and finished tied for 12th in the country in points with 52. Smith also dished out four assists for the season.
Smith scored two or more goals in a game six times this season. She scored four goals in a game on two separate occasions.
"Ella had an amazing season, and I am very happy for all of her success and accomplishments this season," said SFCC head coach Michael Poropat. "She set school records at SFCC this season that will be tough to beat. Her teammates also deserve credit for getting her the ball in the offensive third of the field."
Smith helped lead the team to an 8-6-1 record this season.
