Roadrunners sweep exhibition
Columbia, Mo.-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) shooting sports team took part in an American skeet exhibition against William Woods University at the Prairie Grove Shooting Sports Complex hosted by William Woods University on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Columbia, Mo.-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) shooting sports team took part in an American skeet exhibition against William Woods University at the Prairie Grove Shooting Sports Complex hosted by William Woods University on Wednesday, Oct. 8. The competitors shot 100 American skeet targets each.
SFCC earned the top squad honors with a score of 468 out of 500. The squad consisted of David Thomlinson of Hughesville, Mo., who scored a personal best of 98. Thomlinson also earned high male at the event. Sophomore Mitchell O'Reilly of Belton, Mo. recorded a 93. Sophomore Alex Hill of Belton, Mo. added a 93. Sophomore Caleb Hensley of Belton, Mo. pitched in with a 92. Freshman Logan Pinkham of Belton, Mo. contributed a 92.
Freshman Ava Chevalier of Belton, Mo. earned high female with a score of 91, including her first 25.
"I was very excited about our performances from a coach's perspective," said head coach Sarah Manuel. "It is a really great start to the year; we just have to keep the momentum moving forward. Our next competition is a big regional competition in Nebraska. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going."
SFCC will return to action Oct. 17- Oct. 19 at the ACUI Greater Midwest Regional in Grand Island, Neb.
