The teams performed very well, given the circumstances," said co-head cross country coach Kellin Loch.
Even though the races were held in the evening, temperatures were still in the mid-90s, creating a difficult environment for runners.
"Carter Moss was our number one runner for the men's team again, and I believe this race was a fantastic learning experience for all the freshmen who ran as we competed in our first 8K of the season," Loch said.
"While performances may not have been what everyone wanted, we have two weeks before we race again where we can really get some good training in and then head back on the course better prepared with a bit of experience and insight about how we need to race at this longer distance."
