Roadrunners continue season in Columbia
Columbia, Mo.- The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners men’s golf team finished 14th as a team at the Columbia College Cougar Men’s Fall Invitational.
Columbia, Mo.- The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners men's golf team finished 14th as a team at the Columbia College Cougar Men's Fall Invitational. The event was held at the Columbia Country Club on Monday and Tuesday Oct. 20-21 in Columbia, Missouri. SFCC shot 357 as a team in round one. They improved that score by six strokes to shoot 351 in the final round.
Sophomore Samuel Verbovschuk recorded the best finish for SFCC at the event. Verbovschuk shot an 83 in the opening round followed by 78 in round two for a total score of 161 at the 36-hole event. He finished in a tie for 38th.
Freshman Isaiah Cairer fired an 86 in the first round and an 87 in round two for a total score of 173 to finish 57th.
Freshman Spencer Godwin carded an 85 in round one and a 92 in the final round for a total score of 177 to place in a tie for 59th.
Freshman Lucas Mason scored a 108 in round one and improved to a 94 in round two for total score of 202 to finish 71st.
Freshman Lucas Alfrey contributed a 103 in the first round and a 123 in round two for a total score of 226 to finish 74th at the event.
SFCC will return to action on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 27-28 at the Eagle Knoll Open hosted by William Woods University in Hartsburg, Mo.
