Roadrunners open season
Alton, Ill.- The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners men’s golf team opened the fall portion of their schedule at the Missouri Baptist University Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 6-7 hosted by Missouri Baptist University at the Spencer T. Olin Community Golf Course.

As a team the Roadrunners finished 10th at the event with a 345 in the opening round and a 343 in round two.
Sophomore Samuel Verbovschuk finished in a tie for 30th to record the best finish for SFCC. Verbovschuk recorded an opening round of 84 and followed that up with a 78 for a total score of 162. Freshman Spencer Godwin shot an opening round of 83. Godwin shot an 85 in round two for a total of 168 to finish in a tie for 36th. Freshman Isaiah Cairer carded scores of 88 and 80 for a total score of 168 to also finish in a tie for 36th. Freshman Lucas Mason put together scores of 90 and 100 for a total score of 190 to finish in a tie for 50th. Freshman Shane Meyer shot an opening round 93. Meyer followed that round up with a 110 in the final round to finish in a tie for 53rd with a total score of 203.
The Roadrunners will return to action on Oct. 20 and Oct. 21 at the Columbia College Cougars Men's Fall Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
