Josh Sash enters his fifth season as the assistant coach for the Roadrunners and helped lead the team to the program’s most successful season in history last year. SFCC finished the season with a 26-7 record that included an undefeated Region 16 regular season and Region 16 tournament championship.

SFCC also claimed a District 4 championship and a trip to the national tournament for the third time in program history. SFCC picked up the program’s first win at the NJCAA tournament with a 111-99 overtime victory against Shelton State Community College. He also coached a pair of All-American guards, Kevin Punter and Joe Thomasson, who are continuing their academic and athletic careers at the University of Tennessee and Wright State University.

Sash helped lead SFCC to a 20-10 record and a Region 16 tournament semifinal during his third season. He helped lead the Roadrunners to a share of the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference championship. Sash coached former Roadrunner Kenny Chery who earned Honorable Mention All-American honors as a sophomore at SFCC and is currently continuing his academic and athletic career at Baylor University.

Sash helped guide SFCC to a 15-15 record and a Region 16 tournament semifinal in his second season and a 24-7 record during his first season, and the team also appeared in the Region 16 tournament championship game for the first time since 1979.

Sash’s resume is filled with experience at the Division I, NAIA and community college levels. He came to SFCC from Temple College, Texas, where he was an assistant coach. Prior to his time at Temple College, he served as the video coordinator at Providence College.

Sash served as a graduate assistant at Drake University under head coach Keno Davis in 2007-2008. During that season, the Bulldogs finished 28-5. They won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships. Drake earned the fifth seed in the NCAA West Regional.

Sash began his coaching career as an undergraduate student assistant at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. While at William Penn, he served as a student assistant for four years for the varsity and head coach of the junior varsity for two years. He helped guide William Penn to a school record 25 wins in 2006-2007, including a conference regularseason title, a conference tournament championship, and an NAIA National Tournament appearance. Sash finished his bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Coaching from William Penn in December 2006.

Sash’s duties include recruiting and on-the-floor coaching. He is also involved with academic advising and monitoring. He completed a master’s degree in Education and Effective Teaching from Drake University. Sash and his wife Analeigh have a son Tandon, 3, and they reside in Sedalia.
