Roadrunners lose contest at nationally ranked Three Rivers

Poplar Bluff, Mo.-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners men's basketball team lost a 67--49 game to 23rd ranked Three Rivers College on Wednesday, Jan. 28 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. The game was part of the Region 16 schedule for both teams.
SFCC could not overcome a 12-0 run by Three Rivers to begin the game. Freshman guard/wing Andin Ashford of Wilkesboro, N.C. put SFCC on the scoreboard with 12 minutes and 45 seconds remaining in the opening half. SFCC trailed 39-19 at halftime.
SFCC (11-13, 2-4 in Region 16) battled throughout the second half but could not overcome the deficit.
Freshman wing JP Ndong of Germany/Senegal led the team in scoring with 14 points and a team-high 10 rebounds to finish his double-double. Ashford added a team-high four assists and a team-high four steals. Freshman wing Da'Ron Hall of Nashville, Tenn. led the team in blocked shots with three. As a team, SFCC shot 28% from the field in the game.
SFCC will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Missouri State University-West Plains. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
