Roadrunners drop hard fought road contest

SFCC (9-7) trailed 6-0 with less than 16 minutes remaining in the opening half. SFCC got their offense going to take a 10-8 advantage with less than 13 minutes to go. SFCC stretched the advantage to 17-10 later in the half.
Olney Central fought back to trim the advantage to 17-13 with less than 10 minutes to go. SFCC responded again to push the advantage back to nine points with less than seven minutes remaining.
Olney Central trimmed the SFCC lead to 40-33 at halftime. The up-tempo nature of the game continued throughout the second half. SFCC hung on to a three-point advantage with under 16 minutes to go in the contest.
Olney Central took a 60-59 lead with less than 11 minutes to go. Olney Central made that advantage stand up for the rest of the contest, as they made just enough plays down the stretch to earn the hard-fought victory.
Freshman guard/wing Andin Ashford of Wilkesboro, N.C. led the team in scoring with 21 points and a team-high three steals. Sophomore forward Malick Ndiaye of Dallas, Texas pitched in with 11 points. Sophomore forward Ibraheem Sylla of Denver, Colo. also added 11 points. Freshman guard Chanler Joseph of West Palm Beach, Fla. contributed 11 points and a team-high six assists. Freshman wing Da'Ron Hall of Nashville, Tenn. pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
