Roadrunners swept by Metropolitan Community College
The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team dropped a pair of games to Metropolitan Community College by scores of 11-5 in game one and 13-2 in five innings because of the run rule in game two on Thursday, March 12.

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team dropped a pair of games to Metropolitan Community College by scores of 11-5 in game one and 13-2 in five innings because of the run rule in game two on Thursday, March 12. The games are part of the Region 16 schedule for both teams.
SFCC (10-13, 4-6 in Region 16) was held to just eight hits in the first game. Outfielder Collin Ross of Branson, Mo. had a pair of hits and scored three runs. Outfielder Devin Wassmann of Platte City, Mo. added a pair of hits including a double and two RBIs. Corner infielder Andrew Hill of Columbia, Mo. contributed a double. Catcher Carter Rice of Sedalia, Mo. had a hit and drove in a pair of runs. Utility player Casen Lett of Parkville, Mo. also drove in a run.
Pitcher Jacob Tellman of Jefferson City, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Tellman pitched five innings, gave up seven runs, and six earned runs on nine hits. Tellman struck out six and walked four.
In game two, SFCC was held to only five hits. Sophomore utility player Malachi Antle of Licking, Mo. had a pair of hits including a double and a run batted in. Catcher Albert Salguera of Caracas, Venezuela added a hit and a run scored. Infielder Connor Rice of Sedalia, Mo. had a hit. Hill also contributed a hit. Middle infielder Christian Kuchta of Liberty, Mo. scored a run.
Hunter Jones of Branson, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Jones pitched 4 2/3 innings, gave up nine runs, eight earned on eight hits. Jones struck out two and walked four.
SFCC will return to action on Saturday, March 14 with another Region 16 doubleheader against Metropolitan Community College. First pitch from Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
