Roadrunners bounce back to defeat Northeast Iowa Community College
Sedalia, Mo.-The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners baseball team defeated Northeast Iowa Community College 15-7 in a single game Monday, March 9 at Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field.

Catcher Carter Rice of Sedalia, Mo. led the SFCC offense with four hits including a home run, five RBIs and two runs scored. Outfielder Collin Ross of Branson, Mo. contributed three hits including a double and two runs scored. Ross also drove in a run. Utility player Malachi Antle of Licking, Mo. added a pair of hits including a double, three runs scored, and drove in a run. Middle infielder Ty Hall of Greene City, Mo. had a pair of hits, a run scored, and an RBI. Outfielder Devin Wassmann of Platte City, Mo. hit a solo home run and scored three runs. Middle infielder Christian Kuchta of Liberty, Mo. scored a pair of runs. Catcher Sam Jost of St. Charles, Mo. also scored a pair of runs. Catcher Albert Salguera of Caracas, Venezuela had a hit and drove in a pair of runs. Utility player Casen Lett of Parkville, Mo. drove in a pair of runs. As a team, the SFCC offense recorded 14 hits.
Pitcher Jake Kruse of Smithville, Mo. got the start on the mound for SFCC. Kruse pitched two innings, gave up four runs, three earned on three hits, struck out three, and walked two. Pitcher Chase Grady of Liberty, Mo. pitched three innings in relief, gave up one run on four hits, and struck out five. Grady earned the victory on the mound for SFCC.
"I thought we swung the bats well again today," said Roadrunners head coach Jud Kindle. "I thought our pitchers were a little more aggressive. We need to play a little better defense behind our pitchers."
SFCC (10-11) will return to action on Thursday, March 12 in a Region 16 doubleheader at Metropolitan Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
