Loch Selected to Lead Track and Field Programs
Kellin Loch has been named the Head Track and Field Coach at State Fair Community College .(SFCC) Loch has served as the Head Coach for the Cross Country programs at SFCC since the summer of 2025.
Kellin Loch has been named the Head Track and Field Coach at State Fair Community College. (SFCC) Loch has served as the Head Coach for the Cross Country programs at SFCC since the summer of 2025. He has also spent the previous two seasons as an Assistant Coach for the track and field programs.
"I've talked with other coaches in the NJCAA and learned about their programs and situations," said Loch. "I've gotten a clear understanding of the current climate, and it only highlights the support we see here at State Fair for the athletic teams and athletic department as a whole, which make me appreciate the opportunity all that much more. I want to be around to see the program continue to grow and be successful and the opportunity to step up to help make sure that happens was not something I could turn down."
Loch has helped both cross country teams to a pair of Region 16 Division II Region Championships since his arrival in the fall of 2024. He has also coached numerous student-athletes who earned All-Region accolades and one All-American. The only All-American in the history of the program.
He has recruited student-athletes for both the cross country and track and field programs. He also has prepared training programs for cross country and track and field training groups from 400 meters and above, as well as the long jump and triple jump. Loch has traveled with the team and supervised student-athletes during competitions. He has assisted with fundraising and community service activities. He assisted with organizing and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes.
Loch was an assistant cross country and track and field coach at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa beginning in the fall 2023 through the summer of 2024. Loch recruited student-athletes for the cross country and track and field. He planned, organized, and executed preseason and postseason practices. He assisted with the administrative operations of the program including scheduling and team travel.
Loch was a dietetic intern at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. in the spring and summer of 2022. He provided nutrition counseling based on personal nutrition and performance concerns.
He also served as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. in the winter of 2019.
"I'm just really grateful for the opportunity," said Loch. "I know I'll be supported well by our administration and Coach Hagedron, who has stepped into a new position, but will still be involved with the team. I look to make the athletic department and Coach Hagedorn proud with my time in this position."
Loch has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Science in Nutrition both from the University of Central Missouri. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a member of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association, as well as the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
