Baseball Head Coach Jud Kindle has announced the addition of Brice Pannier to the 2018-2019 recruiting class. Pannier is a 5'11'' outfielder/first baseman who plays at Smith-Cotton High School for Head Coach Kyle Zimmerman.
Pannier is a three-year varsity starter on the diamond for the Smith-Cotton Tigers. He has helped his team to three consecutive West Central Conference baseball championships. He hit .425 last season with 14 doubles, two triples and a home run. He drove in 15 runs and scored 27 during his junior campaign. Pannier is a two-time all-conference selection on the baseball field.
The Sedalia native also has had a successful summer baseball career. He helped his team to an American Legion state championship in 2015. He was also a part of Team Missouri, which won the National Junior Sun Belt Championship in 2017.
"Brice is an athletic left-handed hitter," said Kindle. "He is a leader on and off the field at Smith-Cotton. He can steal bases when we need it. He is a very good defensive outfielder with a strong arm and good pop in his bat. He has a high on base percentage and knows how to score runs."
Pannier also plays football and basketball at Smith-Cotton. He has earned all-conference and all-district recognition on the football field at inside linebacker multiple times.
"We are excited about the leadership skills and work ethic that Brice will bring to our team," said Kindle. "He is a local player, but more importantly, he is a guy that can positively impact our program."
Pannier signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent. He will begin at SFCC in the fall.
