SFCC baseball to hold college showcase

State Fair Community College baseball coaches will hold a showcase camp from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 26 at Dey Field in Liberty Park Stadium in Sedalia. As of this date, scouts from seven colleges and universities plan to attend to watch 2017-2021 high school graduates demonstrate their baseball skills.

Scouts from Columbia College, University of Central Missouri, Missouri Valley College, Pittsburg State University, William Woods University, Kansas City Kansas Community College, and SFCC will attend. More schools may be added later.

"We are excited to offer high school players this chance to work out in front of scouts and explore their college baseball prospects," said Head Coach Jud Kindle. "Players will get an idea of their potential, what skills they need to work on, and scouts will get to meet the players in person rather than relying on videos as they look for recruits."

The pro style workout includes a 60-yard dash; bullpen; cage and on-field hitting; infield ground balls and arm strength; and outfield pop flies and arm strength.

The cost of the showcase is $100 by June 16; after this date, the cost is $150. To register, visit sfccmoroadrunners.com/information/camps or contact Coach Kindle at jkindle8@sfccmo.edu or (660) 287-4722.
